APAG supports Caritas Aachen with a donation machine at the Galeria Kaufhof/ City car park
Time and again, homeless people use car parks to secure a warm and dry place to stay. APAG understands that very well – especially in cold, wet weather. And yet this is not a welcome state of affairs, neither for the people concerned nor the our customers of Aachener Parkhaus GmbH (APAG).
For many years, APAG has been working successfully with the street workers of Caritas Aachen, who regularly visit the car park operator’s buildings to offer alternatives to the people in need who seek shelter there. Alternatives that connect them with the well-functioning assistance schemes in Aachen. This is done primarily through the low-threshold services Café Plattform, Troddwar and Querbeet.
“We know from the experts at Caritas that these services offer most homeless people successful prospects for a life of independence. This is why we support Caritas. Not only financially, but also in a well cooperating team of street workers and our staff,” explains Simon Papayianni, Technical Director at APAG.
If you would like to give homeless people prospects, you can now do so very easily via our donation machines in the APAG Galeria Kauhfhof/City car park.
The dispensing chute clicks, hums and rattles...
The bright green parking ticket machine, which has been converted into a donation machine, is located next to the APAG ServiceCenter in the immediate vicinity of the pay stations at the Wirichsbongardstraße entrance/exit. Donating is easy. Insert the donation in the form of coins and then take out the receipt. APAG will forward 100% of the amounts to Caritas.
“The donation machine can raise awareness that even in a thriving city like Aachen, people urgently need support,” adds Simon Papayianni. “With the donation machine, our customers have the opportunity to be a lucky donor.”
